It would be hard to think of an area that offers a greater variety of fishing than is available in the Great Lakes. The region is well renowned as a fishing haven for enthusiasts and beginners alike. Please note that you are required by law to carry a NSW Fishing Licence when fishing in NSW waters. Although you can buy a recreational fishing licence to cover just your holiday period and furthermore if you're planning to fish from a charter or with a fishing guide many of the operators are already covered which means you may not need to purchase your own. Learn to Fish
Scho’s Fishing School takes individuals or groups, young and old, on fishing trips at various locations in NSW. The idea is to have fun while learning about Australia’s recreational fishing environment from our friendly staff.
Dive Sites If diving is your passion, you certainly won’t be disappointed. The Great Lakes offers snorkellers and divers some of the best sites in Australia. Many of the deeper dive sites are world class. The Region has it all - wall diving, underwater caves, archways, shipwrecks, pinnacles, tropical and temperate varieties of fish life, colonies of Grey Nurse sharks that live here all year and heaps more. Anaconda Adventure Race The Anaconda Adventure Race at Forster offers two unique and equally spectacular adventure race courses on Saturday and on Sunday. Teams and individuals can choose to do both days and gain glory in the Full Anaconda by doing both days, or may complete just the Sunday course with the Anaconda Half. Choose your adventure and reap the rewards. Coastal running, ocean and lake paddling, mountain bike riding plus ocean swim.
Golf The Great Lakes is home to a number of unique and picturesque Golf Courses, catering to all levels, from beginners to the more serious golfer.
Clarendon Forest Retreat Horse Riding The trails are chosen for safety, scenic value and ride quality. Horse riding weekends, riding schools and lessons with adult instruction.
